What's this all about then?

Follow my attempt to cycle from the very north of Sweden back home to London

Oxford to London

Last week I got a new cassette which allowed me to finally go on a long ride with full panniers. I've been very reluctant to go up any hills fully loaded without granny gear but now....
Yesterday I got up early, on the 8.03 out of Paddington to Oxford and started cycling at 9.20. It turned into a lovely day, sunshine, wind from behind, not much traffic. Only problem was that I got completely lost just outside Oxford but after 20 minutes I was back on track.
In the end I did just over 80 miles which is ~15 miles more than I'll try to average per day when in Sweden. Three or four more rides like that, two onn consecutive days, and I should be ready to go.

First official post

So far I haven't posted anything on this blog because there has been nothing to write about. That hasn't changed but some people now have the address here so a "Hello and welcome" is in order.

HELLO AND WELCOME

Have a look at the links to the right, there is some kind of explanation what this is all about.

The only interesting thing happening is me training and to be honest it's not that exciting. Only two 100+ kilometer rides so far, one more planned for the coming Sunday, from Oxford to London, ~110km (70 miles).
My bike is being worked on by a very handy man at this very moment. New chain rings, new cassette and some other bits and pieces were badly needed. Changing the cassette from 11-23 to 11-28 will make a lot of difference and means I can bring fully loaded panniers when I go for training rides (11-28 will make it a lot easier to get up hills and I can also lend the bike to anyone's granny).

I told you, not much happening here.
